MEETER, Rev. Marvin – 89 of Wyckoff passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012.
Born in Prospect Park, he retired to Lakewood before moving to Wyckoff in 2011.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He served Reformed churches in Brooklyn, NY, Saddle Brook, Long Island, and Michigan until his emeritation in 1987, and continued preaching in various local churches till recently. He was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park.
Beloved husband of Trena Meeter (nee Hartog) of Wyckoff.
Devoted father of Henry Meeter and Donna of Saddle Brook, Rev. Dr. Daniel Meeter and Melody of Brooklyn, Ruth Linton and Thomas of California, Paul Meeter and Deborah of Michigan, Ellyn Deneau and James of Michigan, and William Meeter and Jodie of Michigan. Loving grandfather of twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services Monday at 10:00AM at Faith Reformed Church, 95 Prospect Street, Midland Park.
Interment Tuesday at 11:30AM at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery, Wrightstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 pm at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
The family requests donations be made in Rev. Meeter’s memory to Eastern Christian School Association, 50 Oakwood Avenue, North Haledon, NJ 07508 or the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
